Medicare Physiotherapy Townsville

Eligible patients with a GP chronic condition management plan may receive Medicare rebates for physiotherapy that is consistent with their plan. Your GP decides whether you meet the requirements and would benefit from referred allied health care.

Most eligible patients can access up to five individual allied health services per calendar year, shared across the different allied health professionals they see. Some patients have different entitlements. Ask your GP or Medicare to confirm what applies to you.

A valid allied health referral is needed for this Medicare pathway. Having a Medicare card or an ordinary GP referral does not automatically make an appointment eligible for a rebate.

If you have an older GP Management Plan, Team Care Arrangement or a referral described as an EPC, contact your GP and our team about the current requirements. Bring the referral and relevant plan information so we can discuss your appointment.

We do not bulk bill Medicare appointments. A consultation fee applies, and eligible patients can claim a Medicare rebate towards the cost. Ask our team about the fee, rebate and any gap before booking. We can explain the claiming arrangements for your appointment.
